Broken telephone (a.k.a. Chinese whispers, or the telephone game) is the funniest game humanity ever invented with zero equipment — and the hardest to organize as an adult, because it needs everyone in the same room. Warp Theater makes it asynchronous: you write one line, send a link, and each friend retells the message whenever they get to it — on the bus, at lunch, at 2am.
The core rule survives intact: each player sees ONLY the previous player's version. No scrolling up, no context, no mercy. Every retelling is a fresh chance for the message to mutate, and it always, always mutates.
When the chain is full (or you get impatient), premiere night begins: the curtain opens and the whole chain is revealed act by act, from your original line to the final mutation, with an AI theater critic scoring the total distortion and naming the exact moment everything went wrong.

FAQ
How many players do I need?
Just yourself to start a show. Chains hold 2 to 6 retellings; any seat left empty is played by an AI actor, so a show can premiere even if nobody joins.
Can players see the whole chain while playing?
No. Each player sees only the single previous retelling — that is the whole game. The full chain is revealed to everyone at the premiere.
Does everyone need to be online at the same time?
No. That is the point: the chain is asynchronous. Each player submits whenever they open the link, and the show premieres when the chain is full or the 24h timer runs out.
Does it cost anything?
No. Warp Theater is free during beta, with no account and no download.
